My philosophy for wedding photography is the same as yours: a wedding is an event - probably the most important event in your life up to this point. The wedding photographer's job should be to document those events as they would have unfolded even if they weren't there, so they can tell the story afterward.

You want to enjoy your wedding day. I try to stay out of the way during all those key moments because you want me to document them, not become a part of them. When the wedding photographer starts to take over the day, the moments they capture become inauthentic and it also starts to add to the stress that you're already feeling.

There's a time and a place during the day for creative, artistic portraits and a good wedding photographer knows when that time is.
